Free Security

For what it's worth I now recommend that my friends, family, and clients, that run Windows, use Microsoft Security Essentials for their anti-virus and spyware protection (it's free too).

Until recently I was  happy to promote AVG, Avast and other free security products (anything but Norton and McAfee), but most have become so aggressive at pushing people into their "more advanced professional products" that I can no longer recommend them.

MSE never attempts to up-sell it's users. It is less needy CPU-wise, and rarely if ever bothers you. For the first time in a long time, I actually like a Microsoft program.

When consumers buy a PC/laptop most manufacturers have it absolutely slathered with "trial-ware" like Norton 360 and McAfee - and they get paid for doing so. They might not make as much as they did in the good ol' days, but they get their money from you one way or another.

At RedSeven we DON'T sell software, EVER! Watch this short video: http://www.neverbuyanothercomputer.com
